I can't believe we are already half way through the Season, this year is passing so quickly!
On behalf of the troupe I just wanted to acknowledge the hard work, efforts and dedication that Sharon and the YCA committee put in, to make this Association the success it is! Not just on the competition days but all the ‘behind the scenes’ work that is fundamental to the running of such a hugely reputable organisation. Unfortunate recent events must be proving extremely de-motivating for all the adjudicators, it can’t have been an easy decision to make and I personally feel disappointed that actions of a well established team have resulted in them being terminated.
I think that everyone should now move on from this and look forward to the rest of the season. We are celebrating 25yrs of the YCA and I’m sure that this year’s Universals will be the best ever!! It’s going to be amazing being back in the Spa so let’s all enjoy it!
The best of luck to everyone!
See you all in sunny (we hope) Sewerby!
Tericia

Hi Everyone
Just a quick message re Individual comp.
You should all have now received the order of draw, sample score card and some general notes about the competition.
any team who hasnt please get in touch with me and I will forward you a copy.
Just a couple of amendments to the draw... a couple of people have pulled out so we have taken 2 people from our reserve list to fill the gaps. Denise Makie will now be entering the 19+ age group and Chloe Mitchell will be in the 7-9 yrs.
Thanks

Hi
Just to keep you upto date, Myself and other YCA committee members had a meeting at the Spa with our Sponsors for the event in November last weekend, which was extremely positive not only for this year but for many years to follow.
The Spa is a totally different venue, fantastic changes have been made and the hall is still as grande, with many other rooms too available to us throughout the weekend.
I have 15 troupes now entered into the event, and the provisional draw has been completed. We have 1355 minutes of dance time which will be spread over the full three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will let you know the times each section will be dancing at our meeting in September.
Can you please let me know if any of the sections you originally entered on your sheets have changed as I will be sending the Programme to print at the end of August after which time it cannot be adjusted.
See some of you in Bridlington for the Sewerby Gala, not seen dance twirl for a while, and then a nice long break to build up for the last couple of busy months for the biggie.

Hi
Just like to say well done to Courtney from the Kendalians and Chloe from Yorkshire Supremes.
I really enjoyed your dance show at the Frontier last night. I cant believe you can remember all those dances and all your majorette routines as well!!
Courtney , I'd just like to say you looked beautifull in your Ballet outfit and you were so elegant and gracefull, brave as well to get up and sing on your own. Chloe Loved your Annie performance and again brave to sing on your own, how bendy are you as well!!!
Well done to you both and I look forward to watching you next yr

I hereby confirm that as of today, the Huddersfield Crusaders' membership of the YCA has been terminated!!
Troupes who have received entry forms from the Crusaders, for future competitions, would you please return any fees paid and those teams who have not yet sent out application forms, would you please remove them from the Membership listings.
I advise that you request any trophies owed to yourselves as soon as possible and let me know if you have any difficulties with any returns.
On a personal level, I will miss those familiar faces and extreme talent ON the arena, you have been members for many years and it is with regret this decision has been made, however the reputation of the Association is my foremost concern and wish you all the very best in future ventures. I sincerely hope you continue your dancing and find an association which is more suitable to your requirements.

Hi all,
Any majorettes looking to get into dance performance i am looking for some versitile dancers at the minute for a project that i am involved in later this year. It would be good if you have some previous experience in a dance style other than majorettes but if you haven't it doesn't matter... Check out my new site www.kidssportsnet.com/dancing/phosie for more info + leave a message on the forum if you're interested + i'll get back to you, thanks - Hope to be working with some of you soon...

Hi Everyone again.
I have just had word that the competition scheduled for the 13th July 2008 will go ahead at Havercroft & Ryhill Activity Centre for the freestyle and pom sections.
As instructed by troupes present at the meeting, we shall not be awarding trophies at the competition only certificates and medals due the this being an additional competition not usually hosted by YCA and will hopefully be a troupe host competition again next year.
We hope you will enjoy the competition and I am posting out entry forms tomorrow. Please return them to me as soon as possible as deadlines will be 28th June 2008.
The competition scheduled for 7 September is also confirmed at Havercroft & Ryhill due to the refurbishment at Colne Valley Leisure Centre this year, competition in October venue to follow!!!
Regards

Hi Everyone.
Thanks for all of those teams who attended the meeting on Wednesday, it was a great turn out.
Just to confirm to those teams not present, the Competition on 13th July is no longer being hosted by North Leeds Nitros and therefore the YCA are attempting to host the event instead.
We are currently enquiring about the Havercroft and Ryhill Activity Centre availability and if it is to go ahead I will let you know as soon as, and send the entry forms out.
The competition will be as originally structured - Freestyle & Pom Sections Only.
Please note the draw for the 15th has been amended and will be either posted or emailed within the next day.
Thanks
Sharon

Hi everyone,
For those of you who were not at the monthly meeting last night, I am pleased to say we have 55 members who have put there names forward for the individual competition which means we will definately have enough people to run it.
I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who put there names forward, it can't have been an easy decision and it's taken you all a lot of guts to have a go, so well done!!! Hopefully once we have hosted the competition this year and everyone has seen how the competition is run and what sort of routines you need to do, we will get some more competitors next year.
We shall be devising the score cards shortly and sending them out to all teams who entered. If you have any more questions about how to construct your routines, dont be afraid to ask us at one of the comps.
The teams I have recieved entries off are as follows: Bridlington Red Admirals, Bolton Red Rose, Yorkshire Supremes, witton Sovereigns, BCM Stars, Silver stars, woodland Rockettes and yorkshire Rosettes.
Im sure it will be a really great day!!

Hi Everyone,
Just like to thank all those troupes and spectators who attended the Gala championships in Blackpool last week. The wind was really strong, blew the YCA committee away, and the kids on the arena, but they did a great job.
The Organisor called and was really impressed with the mix of routines, costumes and standard of the teams, and is proposing that next year we compete on the promenade opposite the Pleasure Beach, that should be a great event, and hope you will enjoy it. Fingers crossed we get that venue.
Hope to see most of you next Sunday at Ryecroft Competition,
Bye for now

On behalf of all at Staining Village (Blackpool 25th. May) we would like to congratulate the organisers, the adjudicators and each and every one of the troupes who took part. We received an abundance of comments praising the standard of all the dancers as they took their turn in the ring, and am pleased to be able to tell you all that the main comment was how perfectly well all the girls (and boys) conducted themselves throughout the whole day, a credit to the mums and dads and a credit to the Yorkshire Carnival Association. Thankyou all for making our show "something Special". We wish you every success for all your future events during the coming months, Best Regards, Jim.

HI ALL
Just a couple of things to mention regarding entries to our competitions.
Huddersfield Crusaders will not be dancing their seniors on Sunday 18th May.
Witton sovereigns will not be dancing their senior section on Sunday 25th May.
Huddersfield Crusaders will dancing last in the senior themed section on Sunday 25th May, therefore following Yorkshire Supremes. This means that Yorkshire Rosettes will be dancing first in this section.
These are the only withdrawals and changes I have received.
Thank you

Hi Everyone.
Firstly just to clarify a few points. Unfortunately all the dates on the competitions when the web site was updated, posted them all as Saturday dates, however, all should be ok now and the Sunday dates are correct.
The venues: 18 May is at CVLC = Slaithwaite.
The rest of the venues in June and July for the YCA competitions are at Havercroft & Ryhil Sports Complex due to refurbishment of the CVLC.
YCA competitions hosted in September and October, venue is yet to be confirmed.
Hope you are all looking forward to the dance twirl competition on Sunday, the programme looks good, so good luck to you all.
The hall will be open from 8.30am,
With regard to the pom and freestyle competition, entry forms should now be with you, please return them urgently to Kathryn so the draw can be confirmed.
Seen some fantastic routines and standard so far, keep up the hard work,
Sharon x

Hi Everyone
Hope you have all recovered from the weekend.
The atmosphere was fantastic and it's great to see you all supporting one another. A great start to the 25th year.
Congratulations to all performers ... it looks like us judges are going to have a tough year as there are some great routines out there!!
See you all at the next comp.

Hi everyone!!
Firstly many thanks to the YCA crew for their hard work during the weekend and for some, the pre-event preparations too. Very much appreciated by myself and the teams also.
What a great event yet again, I sincerely want to thank all the troupe leaders for their co-operation in helping to make the event run smooth, you do a fantastic job and its a credit it to all of you. The Pontins Co-ordinator thanked you for such at the presentation, and the Manager also made many comments throughout the weekend. It makes me very proud!
Kids - you were amazing. Nobody would know that those performances were the start of a new season, with very little time to devise, train and perform some of you upto 7 routines, you do a great job. Really high standard yet again.
Hope the new score cards were ok to follow, it was nice to beable to actually watch more of your performance without constant writing.
See you in Wakefield for the Dance comp on the 5th. Would appreciate an order of draw Yorkshire Supremes asap.
Thanks again
Sharon

Hi Everyone
How tired am I!!!!!
What a great weekend, the atmosphere was great both through the day and at night ( loved the take that tribute!!!)
Moving onto the routines, wow!!!! for the 1st comp of the year the standard was excellent. some great themes and military routines, and the difficulty of dance twirl, well, each year just keeps getting better and better, the variety and difficulty of different moves you are getting in there now is unbelievable, and youre making the most difficult of moves look so easy, well done!!!!
Lastly to all the teams who tried a different style of routine this year either dance, military, themed or poms, a massive well done, you all adapted to your chosen routines really well and for the 1st time ever in the section for some of you. You should all be really proud of yourselves.
roll on the next comp!!!
Emma
ps Thanks to the teams who attened the TA meeting about the individual competition. I hope it helped but dont forget ask us as many questions as you want if you are still unsure of anything. Ill be sending out entry forms to everyone within the next few weeks.

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great time at Pontins, I really enjoyed all your new routines, the new themes are just fab! and have to say how amazing all the little ones were, the standard is so high right from age 3 upwards! its so difficult to judge you all apart at times, which is why I love the new score cards, I hope you find them helpful and easy to understand, anything new takes a while to get used to but I for one think they will be a great success. A great start to 2008 everyone, see you all again soon. Well done to ALL of you, such a credit to the YCA. xxTina

Just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who turned up on Sat. It wasn't the best of turnouts but hopefully you all had a good night anyway. It was nice to see some of you before Pontins. Thanks to Simon for doing the DJ, I have had loads of feedback saying how fantastic you were, I loved the duck race by the way!!! Thanks to everyone who brough easter eggs and raffle prizes, there were loads of stuff which was great. Anyway we managed to raise £100 after expenses to go towards the Brid fund.
I will see some of you at Ryecroft now on Sat for your exams. Good luck to you all and remember 'smile'!!!!

Thanks to all the teams who responded by the deadline with regards to the proposed individual competition.
Due to the teams interested so far we feel that holding a brief seminar at Pontins will be the easiest way to answer questions and give some general information and guidance regarding routine structure. The seminar will be held at approximately 5.30 on the Saturday of the competition for roughly an hour. We request that a maximum of 2 people only attend from each team. For any twirlers reading this email who are interested in attending, please inform your troupe representative.
Bridlington, we are really pleased with your interest and appreciate you are not at pontins this year. We are providing all teams who attend the seminar with an information sheet which will provide more detailed information regarding routine construction. We will be available to answer any of your questions by email or at future competitions.
This training seminar is for information only. It's aim is not to teach new baton or dance moves, but possibly to give examples of different twirl types in line with the criteria.
The seminar will provide us with a idea of true level of interest. If we feel there is enough for the competition to go ahead, the entry forms will be sent out soon after.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Hi Everyone,
I have just had the lady on the phone who runs the bar where we are having the disco next week wanting to know rough numbers for bar staff. Please Please try and let me know if you are coming, I just dont want loads of people turning up on the night and then it being too busy for them to cope with behind the bar. I only have 4 teams at the moment who have given me numbers.
The name of the venue has now changed from dance club 21 to victoria function rooms, the postcode is WF17 8PA, there is plenty of parking in the salvation Army over the road. I will give mroe details of directions next week.
Please try and make an effort to come, as you know from the meeting we may not get any sponsorship for Bridlington this year so we will need as much money as we can get to be able to host it. It will also be a great night to meet everyone again before the season starts at Pontins.
Just 2 other reminders while I am on, dont forget by Friday I need names and payment for anyone wanting to take there exams,so far I have received Boltons and Yorkshire Rosettes entries. I also need rough numbers from each team of how many members you think will want to take part in the individual comp. Please can you get back to me either way so I know you have seen this message. Dont forget the comp isn't as daunting as it seems, you wont be the only person on the arena performing, there will be another couple at the same time, just think it is worse when you are leader or mascot in a team doing your solo the whole room is watching you then!! I realy hope there will be enough people get back to me by Friday so we can continue with the planning.
Hope to hear from you all soon

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note for anyone who wasn't at the meeting last night. The TA have decided to host a individual competition on 03.08.08. Were not sure if there will be enough interest to host it at the moment so have not gone into great detail regarding rules etc as yet. Please find below some basic info about the comp. If you are interested we need to know by Friday 14th March rough numbers. If there is enough feedback we will then send out some proper entry forms and go into more detail in a trainers seminar about what will be expected. I hope there are lots of you out there willing to give it a go. It will be a great day!!!
General Criteria:
• Age groups as per YCA rules, although lower age limit of 7 for dinkies (no babies)
• Performance timing: minimum 1 minute 20 seconds, maximum 1 minute 30 seconds (penalties incurred for timing faults)
• Performances for each age group to include:
o Aerials
o Horizontals
o Finger twirls
o Wraps
o Rolls
(this is not an exhaustive list of twirls but is an idea of what will be expected)
If the competition is hosted, we will organise a trainers seminar prior to the event to give support and guidance on routine structure and more information to include detailed competition criteria.
Of note, although this is an individual competition, there will be 2 – 3 competitors on the dance floor at any one time (being judged separately) performing to a continuous piece of music to each individuals pace.
Thanks for your support.

Hi Everyone,
So far I have actually sold 0 tickets for the easter disco. I have had loads of people saying that they want to come but have not bought any tickets. If I dont get many sales in the next few weeks I will have to cancell it. I have already paid a £50 deposit on the room, and would rather loose that than pay the full amount and for a DJ if no one turns up. I know it is pain having to send payment to me for the tickets, but it needs to be done,so we can keep a track on numbers, we cant afford just to leave it while the night and see who turns up. Please Please get your money to me asap. It will be a really fun night with loads of games and prizes, disco and beer!( only for the oldies!!!)
Please remember if we want to make the 25th year at Bridlington extra special we need some extra funds to do so. Any money made will all be going straight back to you lot to make Brid the best ever, so please make an effort to get your tickets purchased asap.
Thanks

Hi Everyone,
Hope you have all seen the message for the easter disco on 22 March, should be good fun and will hopefully raise some money for Big brid.If you need any more info please email me. If possible you will really need to get your tickets in advance as I dont think there will be enough room if everyone who says they are coming turn up on the night.
Now I have got all the Twirl Academy stuff out of the way, well for the time being anyway, I need to get cracking on trying to collate the info for the book on the history of teams in the YCA over the past 25 years. I really need everyones help, so weather you are part of an existing YCA team, a disbanded team or a team now in another association, or you know of anyone who you could get some info from, please email me with a short write up and choose 1 photo per team old or new, its up to you ( try and make it a clear one so it will print well)
Hope to get some feedback from you all soon. All proceeds from the book will go to the Bridlington fund.
Emma
ps anyone on facebook, there is now a group for YCA members past and present ( we have 69 members at the moment) alot of old faces some of you might remember. You can also post any ideas or photos for the book on here and any intersting videos from you tube, me and Carolyn have posted a few that might interest you. There is also a link on the site to YCA events, so I have posted info about the disco, it is also keeping a list of people who will be attending and who wont be to give me a rough idea of who will be turning up.

Please ensure that you have sent your ID card applications into Denise by the end of this month to guarantee them ready for the event, as due to the large number to process, this much notice is required.
Really looking forward to the event, it has been great last two years, and Im sure this one will be no exception.
See some of you at the meeting and hopefully and lot more at the Easter Disco, get those bonnets made.....

Hi Everyone
We shall be holding an easter disco on 22March at Dance club 21 in Batley to try and raise some funds to help towards the cost of Bridlington this year. The cost will be £2.50 pp. There will be lots of games, Karaoke, dancing and an easter bonnet competition for all ages!!( so come on you seniors dont let me down!!) To help cut costs it would be great if each troupe could bring a raffle prize, and as many easter eggs as they can afford ( the more eggs the more prizes we will be able to hand out to the kids) We have a capacity limit of about 200 people, so I have decided it will be best to sell tickets beforehand so anyone who doesnt buy one will risk not being able to get in on the night. If you want to purchase tickets please email me (emma.crossley@hotmail.co.uk) and I will give you my address to post the money to. Not only should this be a great fundraiser but hopefully a great start of season party!!!
Thanks

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all practicing hard!! Well done to EL last night at the TA seminar, it was good fun, hope you picked up some new stuff to help you in your routines.
Just a idea to put to everyone...
The world baton twirling championships is being held in Ireland this yr (www.worldbaton.com) if you have seen the videos you will know the talent is outstanding (especially the Japaneese!!)myself and a few others are definately wanting to go, but before we book anything ourselves, I have enquired about a group booking if anyone is interested.
I have spoke with National holidays, who have quoted a price of £219 for the 4 days. This will include coach travel from a few local pick up points, taking us to hollyhead to catch the ferry to Dublin, then a drive down to Limerick. The hotel they have quoted us for is the Two mile inn, Limerick, half board. we can use the coach while we are there for whatever we want and of course we will be there to watch the finals on the Sat and Sunday. the price above doesnt include tickets, I am still waiting to find out how much they will be.
The tickets do not go on sale until middle of February, so I cant really book anything until then just incase we cant get tickets.
I would just like to know if it is worthwhile looking into this as a group or just organising my own flights and hotel accommodation. If you have any ideas of cheaper ways of getting there please let me know. I have checked flights and the university accommodation where the comp is held and I get it to be about £45 cheaper than booking as a group at this moment in time (flights could go up or down) The only disadvantages I can see in this is we may all not get the same flights or hotels, and no meals are included, and we would have to organise our own transfers to and from the airport. I just think if there were a large group going it would be easier for someone else to organise it for us.
anyway email me with your ideas and if you are interested, then as soon as the tickets go on sale I can either book for myself or try and sort out the group(we would need at least 30 - 40 people to run it). Please understand I wouldnt want to miss out myself so would be wanting to book as soon as tickets come out, so please try and get back to me asap so I can decide what to do.
Thanks
Emma

Just a quick note from me, mum and Donna to say thank you to everyone who came to my Dads funeral yesterday. It was a great tribute to my Dad to see so many people there. Sorry I didnt get chance to thank everyone for coming, I didnt get chance to speak to Anne Marie, Lyndsay, and all his drinking buddies from BCM, the ladies from Huddersfield and Roy Maureen and Jean, sorry If I missed out anyone else who attended and didnt get the chance to speak to. Hi to everyone at Bolton and Witton.
Both of us would just like to say a big thank you to you all for making this weekend successful.
For all those who took exams - very well done on your performance. We could tell you had all practised really hard and we plan to get your results back as quickly as possible.
For all of you who took part in the seminar/grade 3 training, thank you for your hard work and concentration. We were really impressed by how quickly you picked up everything! We hope to see some of the new moves in your routines next season. It is amazing how you are all progressing especially with the more complex releases/retrievals and the more unusual connecting tricks.
A big thank you to the parents/committees for looking after us so well. We really weren't expecting lunch (in fact a banquet on both days!!!) but it was really appreciated.
Thanks again to Witton for our invite to the presentation evening. We really hope it went well and were disappointed that due to circumstances, we were unable to make it this year but look forward to being there next year hopefully.
To Em - really missed you being there. Thanks for all your hard work and planning to make sure the weekend could still go ahead and be as successful as it was (Caz is expecting top notch rolls from me and you with the new batons! ...... mmmm).
Happy practising, see you all in the New Year.

Hi Everyone
Hope you're all recoving from the weekend, and what a fantastic weekend it was!
Thanks to the YCA for a great weekend, it's good fun when we all get together (a laugh a minute where John's concerned!) and every single member has an important role to ensure the competition runs smoothly. I think we're a good team. Special congrats to Shaz - 21 years with the YCA, don't know how you do it but you do it great!!
I would like to congratulate all performers - the standard of routines over the weekend was excellent. It's great seeing you all progress throughout the season and then putting out a great show at the big one!
A hugh congratulations to Witton on first time competing in tiny dance twirl at the championships - it appears you did well with the results which came out - you should all be very proud as it can't have been easy adapting your style.
Caz and Em - looking forward to the next few months of TA, but not the bruises (which i'm sure there'll be plenty!). Hope to see some of you at the seminars.
Michelle
PS Well done mum on your fun night performance. Might see you competing in senior poms next season (ha ha!).
mtaylor@havoc.eclipse.co.uk
936. David (Bolton Red Rose) - 07/11/2007 10:11:03
What a weekend!!! I'm still coming down from that massive high - work seems so dull after all that excitement, worry, anticipation, adrenaline, and most of all... enjoyment!
A huge thanks to all the YCA staff for another wonderful event, can't tell you how much I appreciate all your efforts - you must all run on duracell as you never stop with those clipboards and tapes!! Ha ha.
Sharon, we owe so much to your for seeking us out in 2002/3, so many children have benefitted from that call you made to us. Your dedication and passion for twirling flows through the YCA and into each and every member of the association.
Thanks to all the troupes who attended Brid and made that competition so tough - it wouldn't be half the fun without all the hard work you all put in.
Best of luck to everyone over the christmas period (OMG x-mas already!) can't wait to see the themes and twirls next year.

I have just prepared the AGM invites, new Troupe Declaration Forms and ID registration forms for the 2008 season to all 2007 members.
If there are any troupes out there who would like to join the YCA in 2008 and would like to come along to the AGM, please email me with your postal address so I can forward the correspondence to you.
Please let me know asap if you can attend the AGM and how many so that we can organise the buffet numbers.
Bridlington results will be put onto the website within the next few days, and as soon as I receive the photos from the photographer I will add those too.
See you soon

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great time at the E.O.S !! I did, from start to finish it was non-stop, not the "holiday" I had in mind travelling down on Wednesday thats for sure, I never realized how much was involved and how hard it would be until now! Every single YCA member that danced this weekend was amazing on that arena, and some even brought tears to my eyes, I had to hide behind my clipboard at one point LOL! You are ALL winners, its evident that all you trainers, principals and dancers put so much into your troupes all through the year and especially at Brid. So a huge well done to you all! You are such a credit to the Assc.
For Emma - if you have any video evidence of Silver Stars fun night routine I will never forgive you if you put it anywhere near any TUBE !!! LOL!
For Rachel on Fresh - Thanks for the laughs Saturday ! Face ached from laughing! Hi to Jason & Gareth, a right pair of comedians!
For Kelly Ann - Just be yourself ! hahaha!!
For Denise & Jean & Sheila - I just knew you'd look after me ladies, thankyou.x See you soon.x p.s Shelia get well soon.x
For Sharon - Thanks for a great year, I don't know how you do it kid but you pull together a fantastic End of Season after a great year of comps, professional to the end while managing to also have fun at the same time! the work that went into this weekend was immense, you deserve the biggest round of applause and from the comments I hear from members and crew alike they and I are very proud of you and proud to be part of the YCA. So have a well deserved break (even though you are already sorting out Pontins and the AGM!!) and here's to next year, the 25th Anniversary, I know you will have some fantastic celebrations up your sleeve, you never seem to stop! See you soon Tina xx

Hi again,
Ive had a go at putting some of my camcorder clippings on you tube. I have managed to get one on from YS a bit drunki n the pub after fun night, and one from Wittons fun night, copy and paste the links below if you want to watch

I have another 2 one from s stars and one from WYP, but it is telling me they are using too much memory even though you are supposed to be able to put something on for 10 mins. If anyone knows how to get you tube to work , pls send me an email.

Hi Everyone,
Firstly I would really like to thank each and every person who attended the Universal Championships for their support throughout the event and also the 2007 season. The Leisure World Staff again commended the association for adhering to the rules set down and to the children for their behavior. Really a massive thanks to the troupe Principals for ensuring your members know the rules we need to work to for everyones safety and fairness.
My Crew - Well well well, how hard was that, never stopped for a minuite. Can't thank you enough for all your hard work throughout the weekend and the preparations running upto the event. Special thank you to Emma for organising the decoration of the event and to everyone for doing their bit to make the jigsaw come together. Hasn't been an easy few months for me and you helped massively to make the event as successful and grand as in previous years.
Contestants - Great performances, 21 years of judging you would think it would be easy to pick a winner - ummmmm, NOPE. Gets harder and harder. Keep it up Trainers - looking forward to seeing those new ideas for next season.
And next season is the 25th year anniversary, we need your help to make this one a very special year. We need to remember the last 25 years and how majorettes have changed throughout the years within the association. If you can help take us back in time, old pics, old uniforms, memories etc etc, we need to you to contact either myself or Emma.
Really looking forward to another season, and while you trainers work hard for the next few months, I will be working in the background preparing for yet another season.
Good luck with the TA stuff ladies, I might join you some weekends, once a majorette always a majorette - hard to lay that baton to rest for ever lol.
See you at the AGM, - invites out shortly.

916. Emma (Yca) - 06/11/2007 12:11:28
Hi Everyone,
Well where do I start!! Firstly well done to every single person who danced, I know you will have all been very nervous and it takes guts to get out on that dancefloor in front of everyone, hopefully all you parents will now know how your kids feel and they cant have any alcohol to calm the nerves!!!
The competition and standard was outstanding and I can tell you there were some VERY VERY tough decisions for me to make this weekend with the competition and standard being so close, but not everyone can be winners and to all those of you that didnt win anything, just think how much you have all improved this year, there is nothing at all for any of you to be dissapointed about, you should all be proud of yourselves for putting on great displays making the YCA a great association to be part of.
I've now got plenty to keep me busy with the TA over the next few months. The TA team are looking forward to spending the weekend with Witton and Bolton in a couple of weeks, with some members taking exams (good luck!), exam training, learning new twirls, exchanges and marching etc. Then there is the seminar at Ryecroft at the beginning of December, weve got some new ideas to show you all for both intermediate and advanced, I know its a rush for you all before xmas, but hopefuly it will give you more time to put any of our ideas into your routines. I have also been asked by a few teams for us to go and do exam training or exams with them, so far I have Yorkshire Rosettes, Silver stars, North leeds and Yorkshire Supremes, if there are any more teams who would like to learn the exam grades email me and we will arange a date as soon as we can to get to one of your training sessions. Anyone who ordered any TA merchandise I will pass it onto whoever goes to the AGM from your team, anyone who didnt get chance to order anything, drop me a email and we will sort someting out. All money will got into TA funds which helps to keep cost of exams down and goes towards the hire of sports halls etc.
Lastly to everyone in the YCA, I have had a great season with you all and cant wait for next yr. Lastly to Michelle and Caz really enjoyed doing the TA training with you, Ive still got a really long way to catch up with you though Caz!!!but its stil great having a challenge and fun to learn new stuff even though I dont compete anymore.
Just remembered as well, to all my facebook friends, get some photos from Brid + video clips on there asap!!!!
See you all soon

HI Everyone,
I'm on a mission!!!!
I am hoping to get together a book commemorating 25 years of the YCA next year. I want to try and get a page for each team (majorettes, bands, morris, entertainers )that has ever been in the YCA with a few photos and a write up about the troupes history etc. Between myself, the judges and some help from other teams we have come up with a list of around 70 teams not including the ones still in the YCA at present, so as you can imagine this is going to be a massive task to track down all these teams and try and get some photos.
If anyone thinks they may have links to any teams, please can you ask if they have any photos etc, they will allow us to use in the book. You can either give them my email add or I have started a little YCA members past and present group on facebook, where you can post your photos and any thoughts. You will also find a list of all the teams on here, where people have been adding to it.
If any of you have any stories you would like to tell, that would give us all a chuckle ( I know some of the judges have a few!!!) please email it to me.
Anyother ideas for the book would be more than welcome.
Of course all procedes of the book will go into the funds, so any help you can give me will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Emma
